A fourth-year Carleton Industrial Design student has won an award from BlackBerry for a design that allows bicyclists to use their smartphones safely while pedalling down the road. Benjamin Miller, 23, admits he entered the BlackBerry competition on a whim and that his design is based on his own needs as an avid cyclist. “As a cyclist, I have ideas for different cyclist products,” says Miller. “I designed the PRIV + RIDE based on the idea that it would be helpful for me personally.”
